Blog: Water for Indonesia’s most vulnerable communities, our crowd funding campaign means business2016 Mar 3
We’re eyeing to bring the source of water closer to communities rural villages of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). With your help, we’re going to build a solar water pump in rural villages of NTT. By maximizing the use of renewable and sustainable solar energy, we will be pioneering the infrastructure improvement in the area.
Local NGO, KOPPESDA, with the support of UNDP.
Rural communities in East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT Province) are highly dependent on the climate for their subsistence agricultural production and water resources. Ensuring water security is already a major challenge in this region. The climate induced problems resulting from the ongoing and projected changes in climate will soon very likely exceed the coping capacity of many rural communities. This will result in decreased livelihood, food and water security, which will affect overall rural development in NTT.
22nd March 2016, which coincides with the World Water Day.
