Jul 16, 2013

BANDA ACEH  - July 2nd 2013 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Indonesia on Tuesday launched a road map of bureaucracy reform (2013-2017) for the province of Aceh.  The province of Aceh became the third in the country, after Gorontalo and Bangka Belitung, to formulate such road map.

UNDP Indonesia Country Director, Beate Trankmaan said the launching of the bureaucracy reform road map marks a new chapter in Aceh’s development, having successfully completed the reconstruction efforts from the 2004 tsunami. “It is a big step that shows the government of Indonesia and the provincial government of Aceh are committed to address various governance issue,” Trankmann said in her speech.“This is a big agenda, one that may need new policies, new laws and new programmes for its effective enforcement.  The Government of Aceh must be ready to tackle these challenges head-on.” Trankmann added
