Social Good Summit 2012

UNDP Indonesia recently hosted the Social Good Summit, part of UNDP-led global gathering of social media enthusiasts, to discuss how social media can help solving development problems. Attended by some of Indonesia’s most influential bloggers, the gathering looked at how social media could raise public awareness on climate change issues.

The Meetup at Jakarta’s office was one of 48 Meetups organized by UNDP offices around the world on Sept 22nd- Sept 24th. Although climate change has been cited as one of Indonesia’s most pressing problems, most participants agree that there is still lack of creativity on climate change campaign. They say the youth has been pretty much left out from the debate and there should be more interactive and unique campaign targeting the youth, especially through social media.
